Suriname

Altitude: 1500-1600 meters
Varietals: Bourbon
Our Tasting Notes: Apple, walnut, milk chocolate, cream. Also? Delicious.
Suriname is a naturally processed lot from the fan-favorite Malacara B Farm. It features the classic attributes of a Central American coffee, but with a tropical twist. We’re tasting chocolate, nuts, apple (filling and crust). It’s a fun-drinking, clean, approachable-yet-nuanced coffee.
We selected this lot direct with the farm owner, who arranged for export; we used Royal NY to handle import logistics to the US. The Malacara Farms are experienced when it comes to the specialty coffee scene. Since the farm was divided up in 1995 into farms A, B, .C, farm owner Roberto Dumont has seen his farm win many accolades. This lot comes from Malacara Farm B, which is planted under a shade canopy and includes several varieties; Bourbon, Typica, Pacas, and Pacamara. This lot is just Bourbon and comes from just a single day of harvest (called a Tablon).
